I dont go to the movies often anymore, but I did go see this one
and I thought it was great! Yes, I am aware of all the critic's
carping about it - predictable, formulaic, etc., etc., etc. - but
so what: I thought it was fun, interesting, the action didn't let
up, the characters were diverse and believable. In short: a good,
entertaining, well done flick. Now, if only the sequel(s) are
as good.BTW, I decided the thread below was too well buried so I started this
new one.MIke

I thought some of the one-liners were a little silly, but overall I like it too. Some nice twists in the plot. I didn't think it was too predictable.Sound was excellent, albeit a little loud, but then again what action movie isn't played too loud in the theater these days.

The effects and cinematography are superb; they did bleach-bypasses on
some of the negatives to get that 3-sun generated brightness, very wild
looking, provides a sharp contrast for the coming pitch-black darkness.
When I came out of the theater - which BTW, was new, very large with the
front row seats merging with a balcony inclined at 45 degrees and
a kick-butt surround sound system - I felt as if I just got off a dynamite
rollercoaster, now's that sheer entertainment! - AH
