Not surprising no one mentioned HIM in the "manly" thread below.
I recently watched "Max Max," and was shocked at how talented he was.
Contrast that to his "today" screen persona. He seems to be permanently addicted to methamphetamines, idiot grinning.
Quite possibly, the worst actor to win an Oscar.
Follow Ups:
Getting some pretty hot reviews at Aintitcool.com. Rave even.
Regards,
was a great movie. I still am not sure exactly why, but Sophie Marceau probably had something to do with it, and the fact Gibson being the lead actor didn't ruin it means Something..
Actor AND a director....
.., with all of that slow-mo panoramic b.s., fresh-air enchantment, celtic flute music, etc... Forgiven only because the large-scale action scenes were quite good. This is the only thing that saved the movie for me.
tinear,I'll never forgive Gibson for ruining "Bounty". He wandered through looking vague, vaguely shocked, and vaguely English. I am going to look up the casting director's name and avoid any other movie with that credit.
And there's also his incomprehensible vanity version of "Hamlet", which in that case I call "Hamfat", but perhaps I shouldn't mention it so near lunchtime.
But yes, he was fun in "Mad Max". What happened?
Cheers,
brought up Mel's "Madham." Only Ethan Hawke saved him by soiling the Bard's work even more.
Of course, we can all breathe a GIANT sigh of relief that Keanu Reeves didn't follow through on his threat also to "star" in his own version. I believe he was going to "warm up" by trotting the boards in Canada. These three make one wish Tony Curtis had given it a shot...

Seen anything by Cuba Gooding Jr. lately.
Dang, you beat me to the punch.
