...Another Day in Paradise.Overall the movie is a rather minor effort by a little known director Larry Clark. And it is also not exactly your family viewing, with sufficient amount of blood and drug culture unpleasantness, but if you can get over that, then you will be treated with good performances by Melanie and James Woods.
Woods is hard to swallow, as most of his characters are scum of various degrees, so it is almost impossible to like him as an actor, but I do have respect for his abilities.
But in this film he certainly takes the second seat to the cool-headed junkie played with flare by Melanie.
Follow Ups:
So is it only me who thought that she was quite good in Something Wild?
Shining Through and A Stranger Among Us. Laughable and ludicrous, esp. Shining Through.

As far as I can remember, this was her first role ever: she plays a fourteen year troubled girl flying from home into some very nasty situation, and she fits well in her role. Gene Hackman plays the leading role, as the detective who must find her and bring her back home.A good film.

...I don't think Don Johnson helped too much with her career.
was suited for...The "tough" blonde was superb and should have gotten a supporting "Oscar," don't you think?
