It has above-average (well, above-Pokemon at least) action animation, with a pretty strong dose of demon sex/rape (typical in adult-oriented anime) and the standard "we-must-mate-to-save-humanity" plot (this line never worked for me).For something better. try "Ninja Scroll" (excellent action animation, interesting plot, really weird characters). I just wished that Manga would release anime in letterboxed format. This is particularly confusing in "Ninja Scroll", as a battle between Jubei (the hero) and a blind swordsman occupies more space than 4:3 aspect ratio can deliver.

If you already seen Ninja Scroll you can try "Ninja Resurrection" It's not a sequel but it seems to have more of everything that was in "Ninja Scroll" It's a series also... my friends just finished watching episode 3.Interesting observation on the sword fight in "Ninja Scroll"
I'll look for it in widescreen here, however, I don't know the
original Japanese Title. The animations sections here in Japan
are vast and asking the clerk "Do you have an animation videos with Samurais in them" doesn't help.J
.
Well, samurai movies are called "chanbara" movies because of the sound of clashing swords... I suppose you could call this chanbara anime. Liked the original Ninja Scroll better.
Thanks for the rec for "Ninja Resurrection"; I've been wondering about it when I saw it listed as a new DVD release a few months ago. I think the Japanese title for "Scroll" is "Ninja Nimpocho" or "Jubei vs. the Eight Devils of Kimon".
