Saw the DVD last night, and even with the alternative ending, it was dissapointing. Tense drama and Hollywood ending but I was hoping for something more substantial. The whole subject of what's been found in the Dead Sea Scrolls is world-shaking but is being buried and covered up (as the movie states so bluntly, if incorrectly).
Oh, well, not a bad diversion flick, if you're bored.

Well, it's a nice DVD though. Gabriel Byrne is getting more watchable lately. Patricia Arquette is very sexy as the Stigmatic.(I'm not sure if she was supposed to be?)
I guess you're right, fairly average movie but still enjoyable.

that one was poor on so many levels simultaneously & I tend to like some of "Arnold Schwarzenegger" flicks ...

  Somehow, even though the title and premise sounded interesting, as soon as I saw Arnie's name, I got disinterested. I like the movies you mentioned too, despite better taste normally. Course, I like Jamie and special effects.
  Don't get me wrong; Stigmata isn't bad; just disapointing. Ok to rent.

Watch out for The Third Miracles. Ed Harris put up a commendable performance.
