In Reply to: "20 Million Miles To Earth"- 1957: A Review posted by AudioHead on March 06, 2000 at 08:41:57:
Oh, I remember that one... yes, it was pretty cool... like his Jason and the Argonauts movie. Also liked the Quatermas movie where they dig up an ancient Martian space ship under London, and Village of the Damned.. and Rodan. For some reason I associate all these movies together (maybe saw all around the same time or gave me the same sort of vibes)
The first of the Hammer Productions series, "The Creeping Unknown"-1956 (The Quatermass Experiment-British Title), along with "The Man From Planet X"-
1951, were two films I saw as a child that I've never seen as an adult.
I remember they both made a horrific impression on me and the images have
stayed with me over the years. Actually, I only saw a portion of "The Man
From Planet X", my dad woke me at 2 or 3 AM in the morning to view, but that was enough for my sleep-fogged 7 year old mind - talk about a visceral
shock when I first laid eyes on the eerie-looking little alien! - AH
