Huh? What was that? A film about lucky people and the bizarre games they play. So, Von Sydow escaped the "camps" in WWII and is now the world's luckiest man. He lives in the basement of a casio, huh? He can both pass luck and take it away. Characters float into the film with varying degrees of luck and all are in search of gaining more at the expense of others. Cheez what's the point? If I spoke fluent Spanish and could can the subtitles I still wouldn't have gotten IT. Spanish (Latin) cinema gives me a headache. They are coming from where I have never imagined.

I thought the role of the cop could have been more developed, but the idea of a secret society of supernaturally lucky people essentially addicted to pitting their luck agaisnt one another was interesting. Some nice visual moments, like the blindfolded footrace through the trees. Casting Von Sydow was great. That guy's resume has got to be a mile long.
it's just that I have trouble following the "Hispanic" cultural train of thought (plot development). Their films seem to be less coherent to me than other cultures. I need to concentrate more on them so I can work out those kinks . . .
