This thinly veiled promotion via WJC's Hollywood cronies was supposedly meant to psychologically transfer positive behavior onto the negative public employee who currently resides at 1600 Pensylvania Ave.

I suspect one could explain it in cynical terms: that guy can't even hurt us, he is too lame for that, he just floats with the flow of good economy, so no worries on the pocketbook front. He does, however, possess great entertainment value. Which presidency had provided more raw fun and nasty gigles, and made the "serious" newspapers look more like the National Inquirer? That is why public wanted him to stay for another act - like most great comediants... like a court fool with bells. Heavens willing, perhaps the next month is going to be even funnier.

  ... the amount of pure divisive hatred this man shovels out on a regular basis as a relentless convoy has me worried ... if it's nature didn't influence all those students do go postal.
  Surely, if violent video games & movies are supposed to cause detrimental effects on youth, how much does this daily berating liablous slander about the people's most direct&in-touch representatives do? (Don't get me wrong, I'm only talking about the last 10% delegated to environmental effects & the other 90% is still personal responsibility) It can't be beneficial.
