Comments anyone on 1) is this a good movie? and 2) what is the best version and where to buy (if from obscure overseas outlet).I'm a big fan of Braveheart and Gladiator, and over at www.amazon.com, some movie fans think Musa is on par with these two movies. In this genre, TO ME no movie is on par with Braveheart, but that doesn't necessarily mean Musa wouldn't be enjoyable and worth owning.
There are so few well-made movies of this type, one has to "spread their net wide" to find more. Yeah, we got some interesting stuff coming up--Troy, Alexander the Great, etc.
Two versions are listed at www.cduniverse.com--and one reviewer complains about 18 minutes being cut out of the American release. Are there such DVDs as "all region?" Thanks.
regards, townsend
P.S. Lookin' forward to Planet of the Apes this coming Tuesday--I haven't ever owned it, so the purchase is a no-brainer.
Follow Ups:
It is one of my favorite films (well in the big action/epic genre anyway). I can seen how it would have been compaired to gladiator and braveheart but I enjoyed it far more than those two.Sorry, I saw it at a theatre so I cant help you on which version to buy. But seeing as it is a quite blood thirsty film I would guess that the cutting is lots of little snippets of gore in the fight sequences. If this is the case it would be a great shame because the fights have brilliant flow and rhythm to them.
Thanks for reminding me of it, I'll have to order the dvd some time.
Unfortunately the International versions are cut. Only the original Korean DVD special edition is uncut.
