Deneuve plays the alcoholic wife of a well respected diamond broker who is in trouble for handling stolen jewels. He presents the jewels to her before his suicide and she suddenly becomes an desperate woman trying to sell them before the rightful (wrongful) owners catch up with her. This leads to an inevitable collision with her romantic past and the resolution of her obsession with it.

This film was a slow-motion drama/suspense film. Art direction and cinematography first class. Great cast. No chases or bloodshed but worth a view if one is in a dark or depressed mood.
