I vote for 1978's "Invasion of the Body Snatchers", directed by Philip Kaufman. The srory update is neat and the casting (Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Leonard Nemoy, Jeff Goldblum, Veronica Cartwright) is spot on. Add a cameo by the 1956 original's Kevin McCarthy (and a tiny cameo by Robert Duvall at the beginning) and you can't go wrong.

Which " Heaven " ?
I am aware of two! The first is the Lubisch one, the second the horrible Warren Beatty.
As he pointed out, the Beatty "Heaven" was a remake of a forties film called "Here comes Mr. Jordan" (I like both, by the way). And you are correct, there is also a forties film called "Heaven Can Wait"
Yes, but the Lubitsch one has nothing to do with the two others.
I saw the original ( 1941 ) long time ago, but have retain a good memory of it.
That's a good one and both are long time favorites.. I love the butlers.
