Better knows as " Lost in Translation ", is in my view a nice picture, without pretention, a little weak somewhere in the two third ( Victor must have fallen asleep there, I suppose ) looking for a second breath, and hapyly found it. Murray´s playing is just fine, the girl too and she is very sexy on top( Sophia show us just the right amount of her body, even if a little more would have not been forcely a bad thing..For me..) A film without highs or lows, without deepth nor lasting questioning. A nice soundtrack in DTS and a music on the amateurish side, but quite enjoyable! The film is grainy but I suppose willingly so. A relief from the all digital merde.( aka kaka )
Undeniably a " woman " film. I wait for her next.
I see some good promesses for the future.
Follow Ups:
I thought "Lost in Translation" was a terrific movie. For American tastes jaded by sex and violence, it's a little underwhelming. But Murray's performance is excellent - very nuanced. The movie gets under your skin and resonates. It may not make you forget where you parked your car (my test for an excellent film) but it stays with you nonetheless.
Regards,
Mike
The actress also has a starring role in "Girl With a Pearl Erring".
Well, I am afraid I will have to have it...When deliverable on DVD...
Thanks.
I enjoyed the Virgin Suicides, neither classic nor awe inspiring, just good solid cinema with a story; and also think Ms Coppola will pleasantly surprise us in the future
I wasn't sure about watching this, but as it passes your critical eye I have added this to my list (and I have always been a fan of Bill Murray)

Yes, Virgin was a good solid work, I only look once, but one day I may do it twice. I think that Mrs. Coppola is a promising talent, she has the face for it, for God sake, away from this shallow & and boring Hollywood polished faces in Butox.
This film is a step in the right direction, and I think that aftter one or two divorces and some maladies around and in her ( !!! ) she will gain on weight...
I agree with you that she represents the better part of Hollywood. But I am less enthusiastic about her artistic merits at this point. I am hopeful she will keep developing - I stated that before - but today she shows just way too much of that woman's touch. By that I mean the unnecessary softness and corny-ness that becomes a burden, and is something that is usually associated the movies made for the Love Stories TV channel. So I wish her all the luck she might need - she does have my sympathy too. I will not go and see LIT in the theater, but will gladly take the second look on the cable.
I will too have a second look at the DVD!
Bon voyage.
