Yesterday at the movie house.
A relatively long and boring film with some times funny phrases, very predictably in every move from the start. Mr. Nicholson do what he can do the best, the same as " As Good has its Get " which was way funnier. Mrs. Keaton was good and Mr. Reeves a real torture, certainly a nice guy but what a bad actor!
Funny lines won´t make a good film.
Follow Ups:
Everyone in the theater knew where it was going and it took forever to get there. Could've used a 45 minute cut. The acting was fine, but it just plodded along.
I thought they maintained the "which one will she pick?" pretty well during the entire movie.
Really ? I had not one moment of doubt.
view of growing older and dating. Everyone did a fine job and it was an immensely popular movie here as it explored the associated social foibles in a uniquely humorous way.
No, in The German language. A fine job still do no make a fine movie, beside that, I did not say " bad " all the way...
And I did get all of it, believe me.
it has always amazed me that he can give such excellent, natural unaffected interviews and the instant the director says "action", he becomes so wooden.
You mean you didn't think his acting was good in "Point Break"? :)
I thought Diane Keaton's performance was spectacular. And I found the entire film charming, although I certainly agree on Reeves, who just cannot act.
Spectacular? For this word go to Liv Ullman...But Mrs. Keaton is a fine actress, but her best she gaves at her ex husband films.
I may go with the word " charming ", but only on some part of this film, I think the cutter has not make the best out of it.
And what did disturb me most was Mr. Nicholson review of " As Good as it Gets! "
Keaton's acting in the "Godfather" films and in "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" are on the Woody film level? Her range is amazing.
I think than her best period was working with Woody Allen, and her best films from this time.
I like her, and look at her with pleasure. Still.
