While watching the Coen Brothers' "The Man Who Wasn't There" last night I began to realize how many excellent (and not so) films this fine young actress has been in.To wit:
The Horse Whisperer
Manny and Company
North
Just Cause
Ghost World
American Rhapsody
If Lucy Fell
Home Alone 3
The man Who Wasn't There
Lost In Translation
Girl with A Pearl Earring
Follow Ups:
I have to chime in on this one. In my opinion, Ms. Johansson is the best young actress today. She is also undeniably beautiful. She has a screen presence unmatched by any actress in quite some time. Her performances in The Girl with a Pearl Earring and Lost in Translation were wonderful. Lost in Translation is practically on infinite repeat on my DVD player. Scarlett Johansson's presence in the film just gives me one more reason for repeated veiwings.I do agree with Victor as to her choice of Oscar dress. It was a bit of a misstep. The blue Prada at the LA Film Critics Awards was a much nicer choice. I do hope she does not "sell out" (something I doubt her mother/manager will let her do), or become overexposed. The latter seems, to me, to be the biggest threat to her career with the number of film projects she has on the slate over the next couple of years; along with all of the attendant press, etc.
With Ms. Johansson's talent and beauty, I hope her film career takes her to "Hollywood Leading Lady" stature. In the mean time, I will look forward to all of her upcoming films!
What can I say, I am a fan.

I agree but if you google her name it is spelled in diffrent fashion all over the Internet.
She makes me all tingly inside. I think it's that voice.
100% her voice. She is real sexy and a passable to good actress, what ask for more?
***She is real sexy and a passable to good actress, what ask for more?Well... how about - a really good actress?
I think she still needs to grow quite a bit, and if her "dress" at the ceremony was any indication, she needs to develop better taste.
I did not see her at the " Oscar " but her voice....Her voice....Well ...
I don't know what kind of actress she is, since she only plays roles corresponding to her age.
A lot of actors like her just disappear as they get older.
***A lot of actors like her just disappear as they get older.Because the Patricks snatch them up.
get here name right: Scarlett.
And...I don't suppose you noticed that she has a great butt and a huge, pert rack? Voice, indeed...
I don't suppose you noticed that she has a great butt and a huge, pert rack?Well, yeah. Obviously. I first noticed her in "Ghost World" (which is an extremely enjoyable movie). That opening shot of her can in Lost in Translation is mesmerizing. It was funny to notice every guy's head in the theater lean to the left in unison like a Busby Berkely chorus-line.
Well, I stumble on her name too, but was, hèlas lazy....
Yes her voice! or have you detect much more in " Lost "?
