You don't get history from films - great films like this one give you the jumping off point and got the bigger issues right. People who bicker of the details - don't understand history or what historians are out to do.

The greatest service though is to generate discussion. Goldhagen's "Hitler's Willing Executioners" certainly did that. He argued that the VAST majority og the German public WANTED Jews killed and most all of them enjoyed killing when given an opportunity. Talk about a viewpoint.
