I wonder if anyone has seen or knows about the following:A Place in France by Luke Mathley and John Lu
The Agronomist by Jonathan Demme
Avalon by Barry Levinson
Bubba Ho-Tep by Don Coscarelli
Intervention by Anton Evangelista
Invisible Mountains by Richard Power Hoffman
The Natural by Barry Levinson
Robot Stories by Greg Pak
Signs of Undoing by Tom Taddeo
Soldiers on the Rock by Norman Maake
Follow Ups:
"Avalon" is a wonderful film. I own it and have seen it many times. It is the multi-generation saga of Polish Jews coming to America to make their fortunes and is filled with great performances, humor, and irony. You will definitely enjoy this one. I can never quite decide whather to watch it on the Foiurth of July or on Thanksgiving so I end up watching it on both.
A nice film, intimate and a must for every Jewish emmigrant to the U.S, so do I think.
Very charmingly played.
But it certainly is not an independent film. It was a part of a series of films that started with Diner and ended with Tin Men that were personal stories of Barry Levinson more or less.
I would put it in the save vein as " Liberty Heights ". Independent Did I say That? Anyway a small intimate film.
No you did not say independent. But Victor said it was an independent film festival. I think Barry Levinson films don't qualify. I would question the people who are having the festival on A. Their choice of films or B. their choice of titles for their festival. The Natural was also a major release. By the way I quite liked Avalon as well.
Was experiencing withdrawal yesterday. Any hard news about Asylum?
