Interesting, you are one of the few people who do not much besides attacking others. This is boring, as I would much rather render my opinion on films, not local participants. So perhaps with your departure we shall be able to return to that.I understand that opinions on films can get people upset... but that is no excuse for behaving in an uncivilized manner.
Follow Ups:
I'm not attacking anyone. I'm stating my disdain for you and Patrick's attitudes. And please note, Patrick resurfaced all of this. Feel free to chastise him."I understand that opinions on films can get people upset..."
What you fail to understand is it isn't really so much your opinions that upset people but the way you choose to express them. We can debate religion or politics if you'd like, but when you start calling my personal opinions/beliefs kaka, you shouldn't expect me to take kindly to it.
"but that is no excuse for behaving in an uncivilized manner."
You are absolutely correct. I don't think I'm being uncivil. At least I'm confident I'm not any more uncivil then you are. Many people have expressed issues with your personality. Instead of berating them as cry-babies and dismissing these issues, why not address them by examining the effects of your actions on this forum.
***We can debate religion or politics if you'd like, but when you start calling my personal opinions/beliefs kaka, you shouldn't expect me to take kindly to it.I now know your problem. Where did I call your beliefs or opinions kaka? You are bordering on direct lie here. Calling a film a kaka, even a film you or I might love, is not the same as calling your opinion same way - don't you see this simple fact?
You apparently belong to a class of people who are not inclined to accept the opinions of others. So when they express ones different from yours you feel you are attacked directly - when in fact the criticism was of some third party, or object.
I can't imagine how long you would survive in the Outside, when things *I* hold dear are constantly called the names unimaginable in a civilized society.
Do I bend out of shape over it, like you did here? I would be broken by now.
Learn to separate the objects, and your opinion on them, from your persona - it will help.
I never called anyone's opinion here kaka, and not going to, but I shall continue rendering my opinion on any film I want - so please, if you decide to stay here, train yourself to see it for what it is - an opinion on a film.
I can assure you there will be plenty of kaka, good ones, great ones, and anything in between.
In a precise and consive way. No words need to be said anymore.
I give up. Your post was prime example of condescension, presumption, and dab of inferred arrogance. Maybe it's simply your inability to convey ideas with interjecting these qualities, regardless of how well intentioned they may be. Or perhaps we're just operating on different wavelengths; Everyone's lexicon differs. I don't feel like bashing my head against the wall anymore, but I implore you to listen to those who lobbied complaints about how you treat others instead of dismissing/belittling them like you just did me.
Don't let these clowns wear you down Len.I've been there, done that with them. So many of my posts read just like yours, it's uncanny. Theses guys are arrogance personnified, the self-appointed arbiters of taste.
When I first had my wars with them, I was shocked at the e-mails I was sent by other posters telling me to "fight the good fight" here that were unwilling to say so in public.
Victor in particular is villified by MANY people around here. He's just too egotistical to see it, while his handful of lackeys lick his feet.
Do your thing.
***while his handful of lackeys lick his feet.It is interesting that even some innocent discussions are enough to make you lose all pretense of civility and start talking like a person with no upbringing and no dignity.
Anyone who agrees with my opinions is a lackey licking my feet? Rarely one sees someone display less respect for human beings.
I think you never know what will bring out the worst in some people - things as silly as films.
It is interesting that even some innocent discussions are enough to make you lose all pretense of civility and start talking like a person with no upbringingInsulting someone by saying they talk "like a person with no upbringing" is indicative of someone who (fill in the blank). BTW, pretense of civilty?
I think you never know what will bring out the worst in some people - things as silly as films.
In all fairness, I've seen you behave pretty badly in other forums too, so it's probably just you.
Thanks for trying to turn this film forum into yet another personal attack cesspool.
Let me get this straight. It's okay for you to call other people babies, refer to their posts as stupid, insult their upbringing, say their opinions are empty, ad naseum (I needn't go far beyond this thread to list countless more examples) .... but it's not okay for me to be critical of your behavior? Pardon me, but your rationale escapes me.If you insist I'm the exclusive abrasive party here, that's your opinion. Aside from your loyal yes-man, people seem to see it the other way around. But apparently you've crowned yourself arbiter of right and wrong, so we're all wrong according to your book. Pardon me, but your rationale escapes me once more.
I'd "fight the good fight," but it's clearly an exercise in futility.
I don't care what they may do,
I don't care what they may know,
I don't care what they may say,
Victor is just all right, oh yeah.

Back to watching movies.
