Yup, that's the case with "The Magdalene Sisters."
Could have been a formula tear-jerker, i.e. bad authority figures, poor little victims---but the script was brilliant and the acting...sublime.
If you enjoyed "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie," you owe it to yourself to rent this (it's now out on video).

And I left the theater wanting to kill a nun. Very effective.But the performances were good, particularly the one buy whoever it was who played Crispina. Eileen Walsh. We'll probably never see her again. She's not attractive.
