    Guinness Book of World Records credits Ron Jeremy with over 1750 appearances in adult films. He was also in "Jesus Christ Superstar". Didn't know he was cast in Frankenheimer's "Ronin", but his part was cut out, tee hee.

  I have subtracted TV and Archive appearances

  The only one of these who could be considered a star was Johnny Mack Brown, who once so-stared with Harlow. Character actors and bit players got a lot more offers and they took it because they made so little money. There are certainly more, but I have other things to do.

  Interesting question...and interesting (but not surprising) about Chris Lee...I was trying to think of an actor who had made a great amount of "low budget" stuff, but Lee didn't come to mind. I'll have to check on guys like Tim Thomerson...

  So far, Joan Crawford leads my search for the femme with the most films: 97 in all.

  I thought someone like Ruth Gordon who began her film career in 1915 (!) and was still acting on cellloid in the late 80's would have a long list of credits...but she took 20 years out of her film career to work on the stage.

  The search continues...
