Wish I could get to it, I'm too far away without much time for travel. So far, have seen "Farewell My Lovely" the remake on video. Not bad, a 70's movie with Mitchum as Marlowe and Charlotte Rampling is in it too. And a "young" Harry Dean Stanton as a sleazy police dude. A few things about it not tidy, but better than average.
Just checked out the Raymond Chandler Omnibus book, now when I get some time for reading.......
Another one that comes to mind from that era that I liked was "The Long Goodbye" - one of the few movies I've really liked Elliot Gould in (who's also playing Philip Marlowe!). Maybe someday we'll get a DVD of this so we can watch it in it's original WIDEscreen format.
