This has been bugging me for years. There was a British summer replacement show in about 1968 or 1969 that was similar to the Twilight Zone, or Night Gallery. It began with suitably mysterious music, and with the camera (viewer) on a roller coaster. One plot that sticks in my mind was about a man who is stranded on a desert island for years. A woman appears one day in a small lifeboat...presumably from another shipwreck. After a time they quarrel and he kills her and buries her. Eventually a ship arrives to rescue him. Plagued by guilt, he reveals the gravesite to his rescuers. When they dig it up there is no body. He had imagined the woman.
Anyone remember this series and what it was called?
Follow Ups:
One step beyond?
No, One Step Beyond definitely isn't the show I am referring to. I remember OSB well!
I remember it being thirty minutes and it blew Twilight Zone off the map.
It could have been Canadian. It definitely wasn't One Step Beyond.
It was a joint Hollywood/UK production. Ran about an hour. I was ten at the time of debut.
