This is to those who enjoy watching movies on their own HT systems, not just for content, but for that shock and awe FX. What are some recent movies you have bought or rented, that really made your system shine? We recently rented "Master and Commnader" and the opening cannon battle rocked the house. So so movie, great sound track.
Follow Ups:
Those cannon shots were lethal-and that's without a sub. I had to frantically grab for the remote and reduce the volume, and I'm amazed the warning LED's on my Vandersteens didn't light up.Sonically, the best music DVD I've run across is Alison Krauss and Union Station: Live. The DTS tracks really shine. Honorable mentions to Symphonic Yes: Live, the Moody Blues at Royal Albert Hall and Peter Frampton: Live in Detroit (all with DTS tracks).
I know it's not a movie but the DVD of Sting's "Brand New Day" tour has a stunning Dolbey Digital 5.1 sound track with truly awesome bass. great band and music, of course.
