In Reply to: A pure French " kaka " to avoid at all cost... posted by patrickU on April 30, 2004 at 10:55:37:
disappointed me mightily the other night. Reasonably well-acted, I felt the plot and development weak. It's hard to beat Huppert and Tronc but there just wasn't much there for them to work with.
Follow Ups:
Maybe you were not in the mood, but it ain't a bad film... has depth.
There was a collective unease in the audience when the lights came up -- embarassed chuckling and muttering under breath. Chabrol tried and failed huge with this one. One's time is much better spent seeing La Cérémonie again.
In fact, except for a few moments (that chewing gum under the counter) it was plain kaka. Predictable and boooooooring......
The Piano Teacher. A little better, but still pretty rough. I still love Huppert though.
Pointless and boring in the near-extreme.Sounds like we all have different tastes in French movies here.
It was really not a good movie, but I remember some scenes were acceptable, but now after a long time from seeing it I don´t have any wishe to have another look at it..Not a good sign...
