I haven't seen "Return...", but "The Street Fighter" is good for a few laughs.1. Sonny Chiba makes more goofy facial and hand gestures than Jim Carrey when focusing his chi energy.
2. There is a scene where Chiba is badly wounded. His friend, in the Japanese language version, says "There are hospitals nearby." But in the English-dubbed version, it was mistranslated as: "There are health spas nearby."
3. Chiba doesn't have much subtlety when seducing women. His technique can be summarized as: "Let me stick my tongue down your throat and rip your clothes off." In other words, just like some of our U.S. Senators.
4. The most famous scene is when Chiba breaks a thug's bones. To convince you of this, an x-ray of the damaged bones is flashed on the screen. "Romeo Must Die" played homage to that scene, showing an x-ray view of Russell Wong's spine being crushed by Jet Li's kick to his head.
5. Chiba's fight with the short karate instructor would in reality be quite a mismatch, as Chiba is only a 2nd degree black belt, while the instructor is a 10th degree red belt Grandmaster, regarded as the best of his time.
