I just saw him as I was changing channels accepting some Nickelodeon award for acting. Perhaps you need to have the maturity of a child to understand this man's talent. He's gotten quite chubby which was a surprise and was a complete moron which was not a surprise.I will admit to having watched Happy Gilmore (kid rental) and being amused though I was likely the only one cheering for Bob Barker to knock the hell out of him. I sure hope that he's invested wisely because somebody else has to figure out that he has zero talent some day.
there's enough bashing going on down below, I don't want another tirade to start here.I too will admit to seeing about 20 minutes of "Happy Gilmore" (all I could handle). At the time Bobby was going off on Adam, I'd probably would ashamedly be cheering too. In fatc, right now, I almost wished I'd seen that part.
That reminds me of another film my nephews rented. I'd don't recall what, but the entire movie was a complete & utter dud until they were at a game show where the furious cockolded host was reading a question & in the background one unused catagory read something to the nature of "ways my wife is a bitch".
Or, watching "Dracula:Dead & Loving It" on cable which also was a WAFWOT save the Leslie Nielsen dying line "Renfield! you asshole!"
> > & in the background one unused catagory read something to the nature of "ways my wife is a bitch". < <That'd be from Sandler's first big hit, Billy Madison. I liked only two gags in this movie. In one, Sandler's character is having hallucinations as a result of his drinking and sees a giant penguin, which taunts him by its presence. The other is the answer to how elementary school teachers stay sane ;-)
I watched Billy Madison after seeing Happy Gilmore, which is better, relatively speaking. Neither are "good" films, but I did enjoy Happy. Doesn't anybody else here go home from the office some evenings, crack open a beer (or a rum and Coke in my case), and just get stupid?
I agree that "hate" is too strong a word, especially when there much more offensive people than Adam Sandler -- truly offensive people -- to get upset about. Like Rosie O'Donnell, for instance...

you guys are getting old. I for one can't relate with the new wave of popular music. It makes me sad to see myself getting older. The other day a kid asked me to buy him beer. It kinda sneaks up on you I guess.Regards,
Bernard
...how incredibly annoying! To my shame, I found The Waterboy stupidly amusing...though I would say Rob Schneider is the worst SNL alumnus, not Spade.Cheers, bill.

...Pauly Shore. What am I missing? Both appear to be utterly and completlety without talent. And the guy on MTV is coming to the movies too - Tom Greene is his name I believe. His schtick is to relentlessly parrot absurdities at unsuspecting normal people until they run away or hit him. Lotsa yucks. Sigh...why can't Monty Python get back together?joe
Another example that anyone in Hollywood can make it rich.

Liked Sandler in Happy Gilmore and Bulletproof, despite myself. Everything else he's done is just plain awful, IMO. But if you want to talk about talentless, talk about David Spade. What Lorne Michaels or anyone else saw/sees in him is beyond me. Spade's the worst thing SNL ever produced.
spade filled that whiney, unfunny smart-alec niche.
