Of all films, ever discussed here, I must have watched this one the most. I suspect by the time I was ten, I had seen it hundred times or so... and I still kept looking forward to that battle scene.

Cherkasov, who played Alexander, was actually a very skinny guy, but with deep voice that would always command respect. He was one of the great Russian actors.
