politics aside it is a very good film artistically - it is richly entertaining sad, angry and incredibly funny and very well paced. It reminds me of JFK in many ways - are all the arguments going to be spot on right? Probably not - but the big picture of your American president is probably correct and the level of corruptness is obviously high - but that was true of the Kennedy asassination so nothing is new about power and those who will destroy people to achieve it. Many will undoubtedly pick things to pick - but they will stay clear of attacking the bigger arguemtns Moore makes because they can't fight the overall truth. So they will pick on minor points in an attempt to discredit the entire film - Of course that thinking works for religious nuts and Klu Klux Klan members so Moore will have to endure some flack. And even if you don't agree - he states at the beginning that it's the way he sees it - and therefore makes no claim to be objective.
Hmm you wonder why Haliburtan is doing so well and all the Saudi defense investments - 9-11 was very profitable for the Bush family indeed. What's a few thousand lives when billions can be made.
Oops I should not say that - I might get a visit from the FBI for expressing an opinion. The line between fascism and democracy is very small - so small most would not even know it's happening - and when the people are kept in fear(with yelow and orange meters) and the tv is telling you the boogie man is going to bomb your wal-mart you wrap yourself in the flag and trust that your government will save you. Goebbels was very good at this as well in his day - man if he had owned CNN and FOX imagine what he could have done. The conservatives always manage to let people like Hitler in - America with the mass stupidity of citizens blindly following Guns Jesus and the Flag - thank heaven people like Moore are at least there to allow audiences to ask some questions and to perhaps even think about things - even if to find fault with some of his points. Well that is if theaters actually allow the film - too many have too much to fear apparently.
Follow Ups:
I enjoyed that movie very much, even though it's plain propaganda. At least, it does come even with the absolute stupidities said by o'reilly and the likes (a self-proclaimed christian with war, revenge and hate messages in his mouth). Actually, there are more true facts in Farhenheit 9/11 than there are in the bill oreilly daily show.
One thing that was not filmed is the US army booth recruiting young folks after they play in "desert storm" and similar video games in organized playstation/x-box competitions.
The thing with the word propaganda is that implies a lie. Propaganda or propagating an opinion or stating an opinion does not make it a lie if you can back it up. The problem with amy Dopcumentary ANY historical film is that even if you hire fact checkers as Moore has done - Facts are not always black or white but grey. Many facts can be looked at differently. Plus mistakes - legitimate ones can be made. The KKK denies the holocaust because they read some article where one forced labour camp was said to gas people but it turned out that that oparticular camp didn't or that one survivor sai he was afraid of being gassed - and it turned out that camp didn't gas people so these KKK folk latch onto those things and say well that survivor made a mistake at the age of 7 therefore the ENTIRE holocaust didn't happen. This is the kind of mindset we deal with when people attack Michael Moore or Oliver Stone.
JFK has a lot of circumstantial evidence to lead the audience in a few directions. People attacked several scenes for lack of evidence that Stone put in as a guess. But an educated guess they were.
What they fail to really notice was that Stone's main objective was to state the Oswald could not have got those shots off in the time allotted - that Arlen Specter's Magic Bullit theory is bogus - that security was curiously lacking. And that witnesses heard gun fire from in front. The RIGHT will endlessly pick on some scene where a guy had different colour shoes - and that there was no Mister X blah blah blah.
But let's get back to the big picture - Fact - bullits came from in front - Oswald didn't do it and the security detachment was called off. Doesn;t take a rocket scientist to know that regardless of the nit picky stuff the government was and still is definitely HIDING something.
Michael Moore with this film lets Bush Powel Rice bury themselves with their own words - and it is enough to know that once again the government is hiding something - whether it's a vast as Moore claims or as evil as Moore claims is something else - but there is certainly something in his arguments that are more valid than many would like - or admit. And hey creating political discussion is more important if only to get the vote count up. Our Canadian election was absolutely pathetic - It's sad that less than half the people vote. And heck we usually have 5-6 parties to choose from. It took me all of 3 minutes. What's with people.
not the flag!duct tape man,you got to wrap yorself in duct tape.it keeps out everything, the fbi,the cia, atomic bombs, everything!
