I was disappointed they didn't use footage of the original Motown stars singing the songs with the band. As good as some of those current performers were, no one can replace Marvin Gaye, Smokey and the rest.

Mike
Follow Ups:
The point of the film was to "argue" that the music was great independent of the singer, and that the songs were great no matter who was singing. The singers had their glory the first time around, now it was the band's turn. Certainly, the film makers demonstrated that these songs and musicians were great enough that they could stand without the great vocal talent that performed the originals.
