Well it is a good one, save that it display your friend J.P. Léaud....Very book like. Have a look at when you can.
It is not surprising that "Les Deux Anglaises et la Continent" (known as "Two English Girls" in England and North America) is book-like...it is based on a book by the same author of "Jules et Jim".
Released in I think 1971, it fared poorly both critically and commercially, due in part to cuts Truffaut had to make in the film to satisfy its distributor. Towards the end of his all-too-short life, Truffaut was able to restore the film. Perhaps it does move a little slow...Truffaut is giving you the opportunity to look one more second at a world that no longer exists.
Yes so it is. I would add that he took more words out of the book to make this film look even more muted. It a kind of film that nobody makes anymore.
