He's a director whose reputatation rests on one really good film (Pulp Fiction) and several mediocre ones. I'm thinking that "Pulp Fiction" is so good not because of Tarentino, but in spite of him.

Still, he is far more interesting than someone like M. Night Shaliman (sp?), whose films drive me to tears. Even his best film - "The Sixth Sense" is hardly more than average. Rod Serling could have done the same thing, better, in a 30 minute "Twilight Zone."

Directors who are acclaimed but are hardly more than hacks. One or two steps above Alan Smithee but slipping fast.
