Oh, lets say a really good & appropriate filmmaker was gonna do a re-make of "JAWS".
It was up to YOU to cast the leads....who'd you pick???
Capt. Quint...?
Chief Brody...?
M. Hooper.....?(I do think this good but flawed movie will be re-made someday)
Follow Ups:
Music by a 1984 Casio keyboard set to Rhumba.
Gumby as Capt. Quint
Lambchop as Chief Brody
The Snuffleupagus as Hooper
ah
Just another ship's captain.
.
Quint: George Washington
Brody: Thomas Jefferson
Hooper: Lyndon Larouche
It wasn't flawed it was a masterpiece - no better shark movie.Spielberg is the king of the genre so he can do the re-make.
Brody - Roy Sheider
Hooper - Richard Dreyfus
These guys are still around
Quint - Michael Caine (he want a chance to take revenge on Jaws: The Revenge.
Wife: Kathy Bates
OK the more serious selectionBrody - Ralph Fiennes - add a bit of class
Hooper - Micheal Moore (He can save the beaches from the bad ol' shark - a few president jokes would be fun - maybe toss a few politicians in the water.)
Quint - Michael Ironside - just cause he's cool
Wife - Halle Berry - meeeeoooowwwwThen to direct - Quinten Tarrantino
Guest appearance Christopher Walken as town Mayor, who has a story about watch and Sam Jackson to get chomped.
Micheal Moore as Hooper!?
"....You're gonna need a bigger shark"
nt
***"....You're gonna need a bigger shark"Where do I donate?
michael caine -- great actor but i think this sums up his career:he couldn't pick up his oscar award in person in 1987 because he was off filming jaws: the revenge (tagline: "this time ... it's personal"). :-)
"HEY" - BIG A
Capt. Quint...Marlon Brando
Chief Brody...Christopher Walken
M. Hooper...Kevin Spacey or John Torturro[whateve became of him?]

"I think this place is restricted Wang, so don't tell them you're Jewish"
--Chief Brody...Sam NeilDamn, that's a good call. Didn't Neil play a part in some movie shot on a yacht out on the ocean?

Gunga-Galunga
Dim,Yes, he did.
Tosh "come here young lady while we discuss your acting career on the couch" Goldwyn
"I think this place is restricted Wang, so don't tell them you're Jewish"
As usually is the case, the original was far better. The remake was atrocious.
Vic,I agree that it stunk.
I watched "The Killing" on my new Goo Systems DIY screen tonight and I really like this film - every time that I see it. There is no doubt about how its going to end, but the look on Hayden's face as the money blows all over the tarmack in the wind is great.
BTW - I know you already have a screen, but if you are ever looking for another very good screen for peanuts - I highly endorse the Goo Systems paint for DIY screens. It is labor intensive, but I am very happy with the results. With the money I saved, I was able to pick up a Sony HS20 projector and Denon DVD-5900 so the trade-off between that and a Stewart was well worth it.
I used a piece of 3/4 MDF (veneered), which I sanded and primed numerous times until I was satisfied with the surface. 2 coats of Goo Digital Grey basecoat, 2 coats of Goo Digital Grey topcoat, upholstered frame to make it look official, and hanging bracket.
Total Cost - $320 for 84" 16:9 screen
It does weight a lot though which is going to make shipping interesting.

Now I remember. So-so flick. No sharks even.Hey, both our signature lines are from the Caddishack! Ain't it cool. Must be the jewish thing.

Gunga-Galunga
Capt. Quint...? Samuel L. Jackson
Chief Brody...? Denzel Washington
M. Hooper.....? Don Cheadle
"HEY" - BIG A
Police Chief Brody - Denzel Washington
Quint - Billy Bob Thornton
Matt Hooper - Joe Pantoliano
Hopkins as Quint
Stellan Skarsgard as Brody
Ewan McGregor as Hooper
Famke Jansen as Brody's wife (Hooper boffs her in this version)
James van der Beek as Capt. Quint
Karl Rove as Chief Brody
Trey Anastasio as M. Hooper
Jack Nicholson as Quint, George Clooney as Brody, Toby Maquire as Hooper.
Rip Torn as Quint, because he was as salty as they get in "Freddy Got Fingered" and "Dodgeball."Samuel L. Jackson as Brody, because he deserves revenge after what happened to him in "Deep Blue Sea." Also, I just want to hear him say: "Just great, motherf*cker! You smashed the motherf*ckin' radio! Motherf*ckers are gonna need a bigger motherf*ckin' boat!"
Jeri Ryan ("Seven of Nine") as Hooper, because I'm not gonna spend $8.50 at a theater to see Jon Lovitz in a skin-tight wetsuit.
Jack Ryan as the Shark.
Lots of cool casting ideas . Here is mine fwiw.Capt. Quint....Tommy lee Jones
Chief Brody....William H Macy
Matt Hooper....Brad Pitt
As an added bonus! Britney Spears makes a cameo appearence as sharks very first victim. How many would pay to see miss Spears as a bikini-clad shark victim?
Box office GOLD. It could not miss IMHO.
So far, we've cast it old, young, black, absurd..let's cast it FEMME, and make some money!
Quint: Kathy Bates (can't you see here at the helm, "sunning" herself?
Brody: Susan Sarrandon...and put Charlize Theron in the wetsuit. Also, have her "do" Sarrandon's husband as part of the film, played, of course, by Tim Robbins.
The Shark could be played by Babs Streisand.
The Mayor: Bette Midler
Cameo beach person (and film's producer): Goldie Hawn
I'd go see this...
Great thread...give us more "re-castings!"
Regards,
Gary
