Amazing sound and transfer. A rare instance of the sound design being as intricate and integral to the story as the cinematogrpahy. The sound immerses you in the life an an 18th century frigate as much as the visuals. Wonderful ambient sound in the opening sequence - you truly feel as if you are on a tall ship at sea..then WHAM! That first cannon shot just about lifted me out of my seat in the theater!

I love the film too. It was in my top 5 of last year. Master & Commander almost restored my faith in commercial filmmaking.
