PS I think Blood Simple ranks right up there with the best film noirs of all time.

Great list, and with the excption of La Dolce Vita, Star Wars, The Shining and Blow Out, your list could be mine as well.
Blood Simple, eh...well, I'll agree that it is as good a NEO-noir as there is. M. Emmitt Walsh's role is as slimey as anything Dan Duryea, Marc Lawrence or any of the other character actors of the classic period of noir ever pulled off. One exception might be the great Strother Martin, who wasn't in a lot of noirs, but he made sleazy an art form.
