Well, "decent" is in the eye of the beholder, but I'm interested in the "prequal" to The Exorcist that is currently being advertised. Apparantly, this is the story of Father Merin's first tussel with the Devil. The orignal Exorcist imo is one of the best films in the genre. The second was horrible, the third not bad at all.
Here's hope that the forth is a worthy addition.
Other than this, I got nothing on the horizon...with the exception of Manchurian Can. and possibly the new Tom Cruise flick (which I haven't seen)...this has been a very weak summer for films imo (sorry Spidey fans, I know this new one is suppose to be very good, but I don't do comic book movies.).
Reards,
Gary
Follow Ups:
All movies are fantasy, even the most grey poupon fare; you should open your mind a little to other possibilities, suspend disbelief, loosen up and have FUN; it's all supposed to be entertainment, right?
Actually, I didn't mean that to sound so "grey poupon."I saw the first Spiderman on HBO, and that's where I'll probably see the second one; so, I do have an open mind, I just don't want to pay ten bucks for it.
I really am a loose, open minded guy...these movies made from the old Marvel comics (which I loved as a kid) just don't interest me much...fwiw, I've also seen Daredevil on HBO, and if this and the orig. Spidey are the highest level these films reach, I don't think I'm missing much in the comic book/film genre.
Disbelief is suspended for the weekend, upon your request!
Regards,
But, then again, I didn't care a whole lot for the first Spiderman, either---and I was a huge Spiderman fan when I was a kid. Go figure...
Can't see how that will be pulled off successfully.Personally, I'm hoping someone will make an Iron Man movie before I die. I actually could imagine Tom Cruise playing Tony Stark now or in a few years.
Talk about warping young lad's minds....hell, look at me.
