Doesn't mean anything. Just because a gadget or pc is used in movies, they're not necessarily using them at home.

If you watch scifi movies, you'll often see the venerable Radio Shack SPL meter being used as a prop. Saw it just the other night in Stargate 1. Apparently, in addition to setting up speakers, it can also be used to detect cosmic rays.
