Any new news on the King Kong remake?
Follow Ups:
It says that Andy Serkis is King Kong/Lumpy the Cook. I hope this isn't going to be another man in a Gorilla suit thing.
The word is that King Kong himself will be all CGI.
Interesting cast...not sure about Jack Black though...Let's hope Peter Jackson doesn't make this into a 3 part trilogy!
I thought that Skull Islnd was "...way west of Sumatra".
I did'nt know a K.K. remake was planned.
Not sure that's a good idea. Kong was remade (badly) in 1976.
The '76 remake just plain sucked.
It sucked bad...then went back and sucked some more.Special effects have advanced, greatly since then. So I guess we could have a believeable & cool looking Kong. Great visual effects won't make a good film. One word: Godzilla.
BTW....if you look back at the 1976 King Kong, it's awlfully weird watching Kong climb the World Trade Center.
Just too freaky man!
the original KK is the ultimate. KK vs Mr.T-Rex is immortal. A shame the crew-eating giant spider footage was cut and lost. If
you want to see one of those spidies, watch "The Black Scorpion", with
effects by O'Brien in that film also.

I thought Hammer Films 1958 "Horror of Dracula" was an improvement
over the original. So I suppose it could happen with KK, however
improbable IMO. Just don't want to sound too dogmatic. Tried that on
several occasions and my "karma ran over my dogma" each time. ~AH
