The other night I stopped by my friend's house and Billy Bob's "Bad Santa" was on cable. I hung out for a while and watched (most of) it. What a piece of crap this movie is - by far the worst one I have seen in many years. Not only wasn't it funny but there really wan't enough of a plot for it to be entertaining. In fact, the movie wasn't even that offensive, although I guess I would have been offended if I'd paid $ to see it in the theater :-)FWIW I'm not much of a fan of Billy Bob so I wasn't expecting very much. Every time I see him I find myself waiting for him to say "Mmmmm, taaaters."
Follow Ups:
each of his roles shows his huge range....unlike many big name actors who are the same person in every movie they star in. His best roles are yet to come. He is a very strange person if you have ever heard an in depth interview.
I fell off my chair laughing so hard. I thought it was hysterical! My favorite scenes:
Teaching the kid to box in the ringWhen the mom brought her kid to santa while he was eating on his break.
I'm laughing just thinking about them.
Rob CThe world was made for people not cursed with self-awareness
I'm with Corndog. There were a lot of gigantic laughs in this for me.I guess some of us are graced with the ability to laugh at others misfortune.
I thought it was a crack up and bought the Bad(er) Santa DVD. It was even funnier for me, the second time around. I could see how people wouldn't like it however.
Chris,Bad(er) Santa was hilarious.

I loved the movie and have wanted to buy it on DVD. Is Badder Santa a director's cut or are there just extra scenes to watch outside of the movie? I'm hoping for the former, as I have no interest in "extras" on DVDs.
I've watched Bad(er) and Bad Santa. I loved the movie, but I actually liked Bad Santa better. The Bad version seem to have better "flow."
The movie made me cringe the whole way through. I didn’t like the language used around children, and the way he treated them. The way he drinks helped me remember what I might be capable of. There were a couple funny spots, but nothing worth seeing twice. This film was pee stained like santa suit.
...and I agree with you completely. It was awful, offensive and a waste of time. Worst, it wasn't very funny. Perhaps it appealed to 20 year old boys.
Regards,
Mike
