Jet Li, as he is now known in the states, is as good as they come when it comes to martial arts. He has legitimate wu-shu training in China, and this is clear in most of his early Chinese movies (such as Shaolin Temple). I agree with you, however, that most modern movies are like music videos in their editing, and I find it distracting.

I haven't seen Hero, but the visuals look stunning in the previews.
