Isn't the original non anamorphic widescreen and the collector's edition anamorphic widescreen?
Follow Ups:
Apparently there are not 2 versions, but three! According to Amazon's WWW site, there is a non-widescreen, a widescreen and a widescreen collector's edition. I was looking in my local Best Buy over the weekend and they did not have the widescreen (non-collector's edition) version.I'll prolly have to do the mail order route as I don't have much interest in the additional stuff that comes with the collector's edition.
Amazon lists all three versions as having DTS but other vendors say just Dolby Digital 5.1. Given Speilberg's fondness for DTS I assume that all three hasve it(although for some reason the Indiana Jones box set does not have DTS).
hi rico - i take it you don't have this on DVD? i have a widescreen laserdisc version but i would prefer to pick up the dvd. i really want the widescreen version but i don't want to pay extra for a huge box that i'll never use to store the dvd, and some extra papers that i will only read once and then toss out. thus, i seek the widescreen dvd version sans extras!
My copy is LD as well but I borrowed the DVD from the library and now can't recall whther it had DTS or not.
But why not get the EXTRA stuff if it costs less? The gift box is cheaper than the regular version.I Have the boxed set and it's quite nice.
