Of course, it was also on "Dial 'M' for Murder" that Hitch met Grace Kelly, and knew what he had with her right away! It isn't a coincedence that his next film was "Rear Window".The other night, my wife and I saw Tarantino's "Kill Bill" and my wife commented on the fact that some directors and actresses really work together well. The list is too long to run down here, but starts at "Griffith and Gish...Griffith and Marsh..."
The work that Hitch and Grace Kelly did together was very special. Even my father, who had no affection for Hollywood stars, once told me, "I wouldn't cross the street for Marilyn Monroe, that---, but Grace Kelly, she was something else." I think her best films are the two with Hitchcock.
Follow Ups:
Hehe...I " work " on one Hitchcock film with Grace....and Cary....actually it was in Cannes and you know the title of the picture....Helas I was cut out...My work was going into the water...I was ten....
She was marvelous. He too.
What a time.
Thank you for reminding me of the THIRD film Hitch made with Grace Kelly! And the one with her best lines! It must have been quite a time, with Grace, Kelly, and Hitch....what a childhood memory!
The only REAL memory I still have was....a huge sunburn...Hehe....PS: The scene with the firework was the summum of her film beauty, even better than in Rear Window, I do find.
