The guy's still warm and you're spreading the worst kind of filth about him.
For God's sake, have a modicum of respect for the dead.
Follow Ups:
tinear,I apologize to Dangerfield fans offended by my comments. I'd hoped nt to make a fuss.
Americans do seem unusually defensive of celebrities they don't know!
However, I am not sentimental about celebrities when they die and though their death usually causes me to look again at their history, my opinion is not likely to alter too much.
For example, Princess Diana, who in my opinion was a vaccous, clothes hanger parasite was given sainthood and million of worthless commemorative plates on the basis of dying young in a greasy Parisian tunnel while dating a greasy M.E. playboy.
Bob Crane- "Colonel Hogan" was murdered and was heavily publicized to have some unattractive personal habits- a movie was made about this- "Autofocus". A tragedy of a personality that succumbed to addiction, but it does not stop me from really objecting to the inanity of trivializing POW life in a sitcom.
William Kapell, who actually contributed something to the World, died in a plane crash in his early 30's and in my opinion is still the greatest pianist the US has produced. His early tragic death dis not change this opinion. His commemorative plates are 12" in diameter and made of vinyl- and precious.
That Dangerfield claimed he "don't get no respect" and offends my friend by treating her as an object, suggesting sexual humiliation is is worthy to note as a way to maintain perspective. Someone who says in effect, "I'm paying for dinner so I should be allowed to piss on your tits" suggests that respect or lack thereof may at least in part derive from respecting - or not respecting others.
By this kind of incident, a little insight into personality is gained when I don't know someone personally- helps cut through the "spin".
Of all things, dying reqires the least talents nd does not change history.
You are all invited to dance on my grave when the time comes.
Cheers,
Bambi B
