I'm a man of only a few movies per year. All my constant movie watching buds at work said " You must rent the Sixth Sense, it's amazing!!!". With so many endorsements I said "why not"...Well... Apart from a few key scenes ie. 3 pak of long-necks hanging from the schoolhouse roof, Mr dad's shotgun collection, and when the boy was critisized for drawing " a picture of a man who got hurt in the neck with a screwdriver", I thought the film was pretty much Friday nite cable material. 6-out-of-ten, only cause it was Bruce and the Osmar kid has some gleaning talent. this movie could have been done inside of an hour and failed to hold my attention for half of that. My friends also said this about the Matrix as well, which again turned out to be even less interesting, Greg
I was urged by all my friends that I had to see this movie, so I borrowed the DVD from a friend. Well I watched it, and thought it was okay, but nothing special. It wasn't bad or anything, and worth a rental, but it was in no way deserving of all the praise and hype it got. I'd give it *** out of *****. Bruce and the kid were okay, nothing great, and Olivia Williams looked nice, but I thought the mother, Toni Colette, did a rather poor job. The score was derivative too.Regarding the Matrix, this was another film I "had to see" so I borrowed the DVD from the same friend. I was so bored I had to watch it in two sittings because I kept falling asleep!
It didn't live up to the hype for me either. I didn't think it was a bad film though-I'd give it a 7/10, about the same rating I'd give The Matrix.
Ears: I obviously am not alone in my disarray, I was expecting something with the power of "Braveheart"., Greg
