Saw this for the first time on TV - what a navet(turnip in French)!
Had to turn down the volume every 5 minutes as the violins come in, final straw being, at the end, when the Indian enters stage right, chanting with the violins whilst Anthony Hopkins grimaces (after his stroke) in the best Mony Python tradition. 'The Wild Women of Wonga' may be on a slightly higher level.
It was called "Legends Of The Fall" in the U.S. release. Seemed to have little or no narrative direction from what I remembered, a shame given the beautiful scenery.
