Jack Nicholson in The Last Detail, and Michael Cane in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels... both incredibly good.
Follow Ups:
Jack is in fine form in that one as well. Has one of Jack's classic lines - when he tells his girl friend "the way your mind works is god's own private mystery."
I still believe his best work was in Profession: Reporter.
real deal, go rent "Bedtime Story." Brando does a wonderful job with the Caine character...and it's a sly inside joke on the first starring role he had as a paraplegic soldier.
Altogether, a far superior film...David Niven played the elegant foil to Brando.
I agree on Nicholson but have not seen the other film. "The Last Detail" is a very gritty look at the inner workings of the Navy and the supporting performances hold up as well.
...is a somewhat formulaic crook comedy that is still quite enjoyable. The kind of a light hearted entertainment that is always welcome, and Michael is simply superb there... give it a shot.
David Niven as not bad on the first!
Neither was Brando.
Helas the film was not really funny on the long run.
You lost me, Patrick... which film you are talking about?
Sorry Victor! I thought you knew. The Scoundrels...is a remake.
