Shows their attempts to cover the initial days of our occupation of Iraq. Hard to argue with documtnary footage, although someone will always bring up "Yeah, but maybe they are only showing..". Great.
This astounding documentary documents not only the war, but the actions of the US to keep the American population misinformed, and uninformed. And of course, Al Jazeera's then-theory, "The Saddam statute toppling was bogus", was later proven correct. Interesting that they knew it the moment they saw it, yet that theory did not reach the Good Ole USA until the BBC broke the story. The staff at the Al Jazeera control room are the focus of the movie and they are VERY likable people. And they seem far more intent to getting the truth to their viewers than the US army does. Make up your own mind, fabulous movie.

Saw it in theaters months ago. What's your take on the Al Jazeera journalist killed in Baghdad? I thought it was fishy at the time and I still do even more sytonly after seeing this film.
The US information officer in this doc was a good guy, obviously struggling with trying to be fair and doing "the right thing". He became almost the center of the film for me.
OTOH, it was fascinating to observe that the Al Jazeera journalists admired the US in many ways, and, in fact, quite a few would seize the oportunity to live & workd here, and send their children to school here. The journalists believe in American ideals, they just don't buy American bullshit.
another Arab television station. Therefore, I doubt the guy committed suicide. He looked sacared, like maybe he was afraid of dying?Especially with the bogus speak from the US, "He was killed during the engagement". Like, not by anyone in particular, just, somehow killed.
