When I was about 16, Paramount was paying kids at our high school to be extras. I signed up (who couldn't use a couple extra bucks at 16) and never really followed what happened. Originally they were calling it "All washed up" and a quick Internet search turned up it was called "Ladies & Gentlemen, the fabulous stains". I'm 99% sure it was this movie but it seems I can't rent it anywhere. It'd be hilarious to see me at 16 being an idiot, pretending to dance, etc.
Anybody any idea?
Follow Ups:
IN the late 90's VH1 played it ...great movie. after seeing it on pbs in 1983 changed my life, saw it on vh1 realised it changed my life...
first time i dyed my hair it was like a "SKUNK"
Caught it on USA's "Night Flight" program back in the mid 80s. I have never seen it on video or on any other cable network. Interesting film about the bands who slog along from club gig to club gig, some on their way up, and some...
No affiliation, etc. (disclaimer)Grins

Been looking for a couple months now. Oh well.
It's my understanding the movie went straight to cable. It was on heavy rotation on HBO when I was in high school during the mid-1980s.
I'm almost certain I've seen it on TBS or USA since then.
I can't believe it isn't on video considering the cast and subject. Instant cult classic.
