I think the overly bright, washed out look was deliberate as some scenes look more "normal".

Visually a real treat, ditto the fullrate DTS soundtrack.
Yes that opening set piece with the drums and plate of beans in the brothel is demo material.

The HK DVD marketing model (timely release on DVD at a reasonable price)is a revelation compared to what US based companies do and is a better way to combat piracy than present policies.

The film gets a January 2005 release down here.
Amazing considering Hero has just been released cinematically.
