My favorite flick from that era was a late 70's "opus" called "The Satisfiers of Alpha Blue", directed by George Damiano. Kinda a cross between Star Wars (what wasn't in the late 70's!!!) and 2001 (a VERY social commentary type style of sub-plot).It actually had a good plot, good acting (no oscar winners here but no one-liners like "here's the pizza, and here's the pepperoni!"), good character development, and a very unique music score that featured at the end of the film (during the massive orgy at the end- what did you expect!?), what became the theme song from a North American TV show called The People's Court (remember the "Judge Wapner" reference in the movie Rain Man?). Not to mention, some pretty progressive sex scenes (at the ending of the film , the camera pans out to reveal the director sitting right there beside the actors doing a "scene"!).
With stage names like Herschel Savage and Jean Damage (!) whats not to love about the era!?
Wish I could find that one out there somewhere...
Oh yes, and its one of the few from the period that Ron Jeremy is NOT in!
Cheers,
Dman
