For Godīs sake. It would be a mistcast. It was good when he had strong directors behind him. And anyway he said he will not make any films anymore. ( Through he just finish a TV film in France.)
Have you seen the desaster on DVD with Rochefort?
Follow Ups:
Were it not for his back problems, this looked like a good movie.
THAT role would not require an actor...as in...a good one.
It requires a screen "presence" and a French accent, and just a bit of acting. A.Delon has screen presence...even as an old guy.
This is one of those movies in which the costume IS the role. Besides, if Johnny Depp was still in he'd be reacting to Delon (as Quixote)
Can you see it?
I remember a qoute from Jack Nicholson on his role as Joker in Batman:
"Piece of cake, just sit back & let the make-up do the part"...or something to that effect.
Its just that I can't think of any other French actors in that age group.
I think we should wait until J. Depp his rip! For a big international production of course.
