Today I dug out my Christmas music and films. It ocurred to me that many people have a favorite Christmas movis so I am wondering what yours is.Mine is the 1951 Allistair Sim version of "A Christmas Carol" (the movie is actually called "Scrooge"). If I may blaspheme, I like the colorized version over the black and white, the only colorized film I care for.
I have the 1938 version of this and do watch it but it's not as dark and a bit too Hollywood for me. I also enjoy "Mickey's Christmas Carol", where Disney cartoon characters play the parts.
I also watch "Miracle on 34th Street" and (of course) "It's a Wonderful Life". I also like to show the ending of "Grand Illusion"
where the two escapees share Christmas with the widow and her daughter.

Not a Christmas movie but still in season and an excellent story and one of my all time favorite movies. Also ever since I was I kid I've enjoyed "Auntie Mame" with Rosalind Russell this time of year.
relates a great Christmas story to a writer friend.Grins

not technically a Christmas film, but it takes place over the Christmas holidays. Entertaining performances by a largely unknown cast. "Scrooge" is also a favorite.John
Always loved this movie and its companion pieces, Barcelona and Last Days of Disco. Particularly Metropolitan. Do prep school kids in New York really spend their time discussing art, philosophy and literature? Probably not, but it's a nice fantasy.
Yes, those you name are great, even their remakes or variations. I think my favorite is “White Christmas”. Fun post!
"What's that squeaking noise?" Hilarious!
...story where the husband sells his family watch to buy a hair comb for his wife and his wife cuts & sells her hair to buy a watch chain for her husbands watch, for Christmas.
Ahhhhhhh.
